My Story
My name is Chris, and I am the founder of Childcare Near Me.
My journey into childcare began at 17 when I started studying for my NVQ Level 2 in Childcare. During a placement in a nursery, I quickly realised I had found something I genuinely loved and was offered my first role there.
I fell in love with the fast paced environment, the daily routines and, most importantly, the opportunity to positively influence children during their early years.
By the age of 19, I became one of the youngest fully qualified male nursery practitioners in the UK. I then went on to spend over 15 years working across the childcare sector in both practitioner and leadership roles.
Throughout my career, I saw first hand the panic, anxiety and pressure many parents face when trying to find the right childcare for their child.
I soon discovered just how difficult finding childcare could be. Even when parents did find somewhere they felt was right for their child, I also saw how difficult and emotional it could be for them to leave their child in someone else’s care for the first time.
Choosing childcare is one of the biggest decisions a parent can make, and I understand just how overwhelming that whole process can feel.
The trust parents placed in me throughout my career inspired me to create Childcare Near Me, with the aim of helping families find childcare they can truly trust.
My aim is to make the process of finding the right childcare simpler, less stressful and easier for parents, giving families the confidence and information they need when making one of the most important decisions for their child.

“Chris was an amazing role model for Tyler, he unfortunately never had contact with his dad so having that influence at nursery was priceless.
Chris was Tyler’s key worker, he was always open to a chat and advised us about senco when we was worried about Tyler’s speech. Chris understands the stress parents are feeling and this website will help so many new parents and I just wish it was around in 2014 when we was looking for a nursery.
